Red is the Colour with IndigoBlu

Plain little wooden box
Hello and welcome to my blog! Today, I have decorated a cute little wooden box with lots of yummy IndigoBlu products.

I first gave the box a coat of white GeeSso Good Gesso, then a coat of Postbox Red.

I then dry-brushed Goldfinger over the red.

I applied a thin coat of watered down white GeeSso to a sheet 6x6 paper from the Fontastic Ephemera pack.

I took the Peony Posey A6 stamp and stamped this to the middle (using three little VersaFine ink pads) and, once dry, glued to the lid with my  Slap It On glue! Once the glue was dry I creased and then sanded the edges of the paper away - and then applied a layer of Slap It On!

All that Sparkles

As always, I had lots of fun making this!! I had a few issues getting this blog post ready in time, so I'm adding my inspiration mid-month! I hope you like! I know it's no longer Christmas, but I've still got my decorations up!

This rather cute little creation uses a Dinkie stamp called Snowflake Bauble and is hopefully still available to buy on the IndigoBlu website! I know the stamps have been selling like hotcakes and is the only one left at the time of writing this blog post.....

I used the Copper Kettle Mega Flake, and distressed the edges with distress ink once I'd cut to size. I made to the same (one for each side).

It's very easy to remove the base of the Glitter Globe and I popped my two images in the middle section - it comes with a little foam 'buffer'.

Then just shake it up and watch it 'glitter'! It sure sparkles!!!!!

Winter Blues Diffused Candle Holder

Welcome back to my blog! So we are mid way through the IndigoBlu blog challenge, and here is my inspirational piece!

This time, I've taken a little glass jar, and made a really cute little candle holder with it - I've used a battery operated one (for safety).

I wanted to add the Mega Flake to the glass, but the sides were not flat enough, so, no problem, I used tissue instead!!!

'Ink up' your stamp as usually using FlitterGlu and apply to tissue! Don't press for too long. This is my first time using the FlitterGlu on tissue, but one of our lovely Demonstrators, Lydia Tarry, showed us it's possible!!!!  I stamped up a few more than I needed, so that I could pick the best ones.

For this sample, I have used Royal Peacock - mainly because it has some gorgeous blues in it!

Using my SlapItOn Tissue Paper glue, I placed 3 of my Mega Flake baubles onto 3 of the six sides. I then covered the complete jar with the SlapItOn and left if to dry. This left it with a diffused look, rather than just plain glass. It looks really great!

I used Grandma's Teacup and Snow White English Cottage Acrylic paints on the lid and flowers. I basically covered with the lid with scrunched up tissue, and applied that with my SlapItOn. Dried it (with my heat gun = I'm not patient!!) and splodged watered down Grandma's Teacup on it. I dried that off and then dry brushed a little Snow White over the top.

I did the same with a few white paper flowers, which I layered up to create a lovely big flower! The centre of the flower is adorned with 3 blue pearls, which I rolled into my FlitterGlu covered Phat Foam, and then dipped into an iridescent glitter.

Pop in the candle, pop on the lid, and let it glow...!

IndigoBlu Winter Blues

Winter Blues card

Thank you for visiting my blog. For this IndigoBlu Blog Challenge, I was inspired to use the colour blue and silver.

I cut out 3 sheets of paper in descending size to fit onto a square card base. Using IndigoBlu English Cottage Acrylic Paints I painted my cards using the following colours:
Largest square : Mixture of Townhouse Teal and Sleeping Beauty (and water)
Middle square : Townhouse Teal and Grandma's Teacup (and water)
Smallest square : Grandma's Teacup and Snow White (and water)

I also painted a piece of 'ribbon' - it was the ribbon from a tea-towel set. I gave this a really good soak in what was left from painting my last (smallest) square.

Once dry, I took the Snow White paint, mixed with a little more water than I'd previously used, to create the splashes on all three squares.

I used the IndigoBlu Distress Tool to roughen up all the edges - the paper needs to be very dry, so, being the impatient crafter that I am, I used my heat tool!

I chose my winter-themed stamps and with the Holly Berry (A6) stamp on my smallest square, stamped with the FlitterGlu. I then used the Winter Dawn Mega Flake.

I also used the SnowFlake Lace (A6) stamp, but this time, I stamped onto the ribbon, using Townhouse Teal paint. I let is sit and applied a good amount of pressure! (this is where the Slim Jims come in very handy, as I suffer with arthritic inflammation in some of my fingers)

I had a gorgeous little silver pendant, so stamped the SnowFlake Lace stamp onto some photographic paper (it was a piece of waste that I didn't want to 'waste') using the FlitterGlu - this I left to go tacky for a little longer, being as how the paper was very glossy - much as you would do if using the FlitterGlu onto Acetate, Shrink Plastic, or Glass. I used the Winter Dawn Mega Flake and then cut down to size to fit within the pendant, stuck down with a little of the FlitterGlu and then coated and sealed over the IndigoBlu Slap It On Tissue Paper glue.

The sentiment is from the Here Comes Santa (A5) stamp set, with I cut to the desired size and framed using the FlitterGlu and Mega Flake (in Winter Dawn).

I assembled my card and applied a few little blue gems onto a few of the 'berries' and snowflakes!

I've listed all the products, with links, at the bottom on this page. I hope you like. Stay warm. Peace.

Time Flies with IndigoBlu!

I enjoyed making my blog challenge for this month! Here is my finished piece. I hope you like it!

To get back to the IndigoBlu blog challenge, simply click this sentence.

Completed project. The flake is so reflective, I love it! I do need a better camera though...

I started out with a cog clock MDF shape - (IndigoBlu Clock Kits)
I covered the clock with this beautiful paper - (IndigoBlu Flights of Fancy 12x12)
Using, of course, IndigoBlu's famous Slap-It-On!
I used the A5 stamp set Good Times
I had to add some of the gorgeous IndigoBlu Mega Flake, the colour used here is Lancashire Rose. (Click here for FlitterGlu and Mega Flake)
I then added some splodges of watered down IndigoBlu English Cottage Artist's Acrylic paints. I used the metallic colours Snow White and Miss Moneypenny.

I cut out the stamped clock faces, the extra butterfly (from the paper) and my sentiment - all of which I stamped on the Flights of Fancy paper, using Versafine inks. (I used smokey grey and onyx black). I then added to my clock face - partly glued flat, partly with foam tape.

I outlined the clocks using a black water pencil, which I then smudged (see first image).

The dimension of the paint drops, although not as rounded, has remained. I used the grey versafine to outline the sentiment.

Finished clock - before smudging my outlines.

Angled photo, to show the dimension (and some product placement!)

An IndigoBlu Autumn!

Hello and happy new challenge!

My favourite season is Autumn, so I'm delighted to be able to do a theme based on this wondrous time.

My project took a little detour from it's original direction however....

I hope you like it.

I started out with a plain little booklet, about A6 size. This I bought in a local craft shop locally to me (before it closed down, sadly), but this is most common in high street stores and/or supermarkets - although those will have a pattern on - mine was a plain kraftcard stock cover.

I painted the cover various times....With Black GeeSso-Good, then with Burning Bonfire (I just love that orange!).

I stamped over with stamps from the Poppy sets (see links below) using a Gothic purple StazOn ink. I then went over with a very dry brush using the Miss Moneypenny paint. (my favourite!!)

Here you can see the reverse of my book, and it's really rather lovely. I gave it a watered down covering with Miss Moneypenny, simply spraying water onto my craft mat then adding some paint, and mixing it up.  Once all was dry, I added a coat of Slap It On - to seal. (that Burning Bonfire paint is so so juicy and full of pigment that it still rubs of on hands when dry - even keeping the colour on the card!! It's insane!)

So, from this point onwards, I decided that I wanted to add a little more to the front cover...and here's where things when a little beyond 'little more'.......

And here is the result! Just a few bits and bobs glued on and voila!

I've kept to the autumnal colours - I myself and very fond of wearing purple during autumn.

I added a little Mega Flake at the end - Chocolate Box - oh so good, you'll want to eat! (but don't - really, don't eat it.)

All the colours of paint are listed below.

IndigoBlu English Cottage Acrylic Paints:
Miss Moneypenny; Aladdin; Emerald City; Snow White; Sleeping Beauty; Burning Bonfire.

Stamps used:
A5 Plume set; A5 Giant Poppy set; A5 Grand Tour II;  A6 Poppycock.
